Films watched in 2013: #3 The Conformist, Bernardo Bertolucci (1970)
I have been watching some of Bernardo Bertolucci early films from the 60s and 70s. Il Conformista was amazing. I also saw his first film he did when he as 21 called the La commare secca and about a month ago Novecento. I love that you can see the film posters from afar and know it’s a Bertolucci film - at least you can say that for his earlier films.
Ran another two miles today on a trail in my neighborhood, which is a milestone for me. Only three months ago, I was only able to run one lap around a school track (1/4 mile) before giving up.
My mother’s tumors on her liver are almost gone and the tumor in her colon is shrinking. Still have to take that one day at time.
Overtime at work has died down, so I have been enjoying my evenings watching PBS, reading and meeting with a new friend! Been working on “me” stuff, such as exercise, making weekly dinners at home, reading and enjoying the little things around me.
I will be moving in with my boyfriend at the end of March 2013. We have been dating since May 2011, moved to be closer to him about year ago and now we’ve decided that we are ready to live together. I enjoy spending time with him, and want to keep the balance we have in our relationship even though we live in the same home.
If you are a Frida Kahlo fan – and really, who isn’t – check out the new exhibit at the Frida Kahlo Museum in Mexico City. It opened this past weekend and it takes us inside Frida’s long-locked closet.
